The first time she tied into a rope and started up a rock face, says Nikki Smith, “I knew it was what I wanted to do. Nothing else existed when I was there—just the rock, holds, and [the people] with me.” On rock and ice, Nikki is grace and power, strength and strategy. Her expression is relaxed, even carefree, working her way up rock faces and frozen waterfalls that at best look daunting to the average climber—and downright death-defying to those of us whose best days on the sharp end are behind us.”

One look at the radiant mud-spattered face of Bronwen Jewelry's newest Global Ambassador Chelsey Magness and you can see echoes of the little girl she once was, making dirt pies and building tree forts in the Alaska wilderness. But that's who she remains at heart, despite the intervening years, the recent motherhood, and the seminal events that have shaped her adult life. As an athlete and adventurer who has built her life and career around racing and hard-core sports, Chelsey has always been a gal whose heart beats faster and whose mind is sharper when she's pushing her limits, and that began with her early years in Anchorage.”

Krissy didn’t seek out the sport of ultra running (any run over marathon length, 26.2 miles), it was something she fell into by instinct and by accident. While studying abroad in Ecuador during college, Krissy found her stride running for hours on end, exploring the Ecuadorian landscape and relishing the freedom from a collegiate training program that capped workouts at 90 minutes. When Krissy returned from Ecuador, she landed in a budding community of ultra runners and has, ever since, been running distances that make most of us 5-mile runners shudder. “I like to say I was raised by wolves,” Krissy says, “because running 30 miles at a stretch and then doing a 20-mile run the next day is not normal in your 20s. But I was just 22 when I found this community and got into the long runs, so it seemed normal to me.”

Olivia began practicing yoga while attending law school in Australia. Already a climber, Olivia was intrigued by the art of movement and found that the flexibility and balance associated with yoga complemented and enhanced her climbing technique. When Olivia realized that she could make a greater contribution to society through climbing and yoga than through the law, she abandoned the legal profession and embarked on a career as a climber and yoga teacher. Olivia says she is honored to represent Bronwen and wear our beautiful creations, most of which are designed with rock, water, sand, and sweat in mind. Olivia trains hard and needs her jewelry to keep up with both her workouts and her travel schedule, which takes her all over the world on climbing trips and yoga retreats.

Kim is a professional freestyle skier, back country guide, freelance writer and photographer Her resume of ascents and descents is so substantial that it is almost easier to list the lines she hasn’t skied and the routes she hasn’t climbed. All seven continents have provided the topography for her endeavors; on more than half of them she has pioneered first descents – nearly all of the legendary mountains of the world have been Kim’s stomping grounds. But Kim’s 2013 descent off the Grand Teton truly confirmed for a wider audience: this woman totally shreds. “I’ve been wearing Bronwen jewelry long before I became an ambassador,” explains Kim. “I love her pieces – they speak to me and fit with my active lifestyle and the company conveys simplistic beauty with a lot of soul.
